What Gives a Law Firm Its Character, Its Personality? What creates a professional enterprise larger than the sum of its parts??
We look for engaging, bright, energetic men and women who combine first-rate intellectual and interpersonal skills with diverse and well-rounded interests. We have such people today, and intend to hire such people tomorrow.
Our attorneys are actively involved in local, regional and national charitable, civic and political organizations. We are volunteers, fundraisers, school board members, coaches, educators, bar association leaders, and campaign chairs. We encourage such active involvement because our communities benefit. We have much to contribute, and, in the process, we all benefit.
We look for multi-faceted men and women who combine high academic achievement with an entrepreneurial spirit, strong interpersonal skills, a desire for responsibility, and a healthy competitiveness. There is no mold to fit. We want people of diverse backgrounds and experiences who will challenge each of us to be better at what we do, and to rethink comfortable approaches to our work, to our practice, and to our role in the legal community and the community at-large.
"We work together to cultivate the traits which we want our clients and adversaries to identify with us: quality, integrity, responsiveness and results."
- Ann Smith
"Teamwork is essential. It's a cornerstone to the interaction between individual attorneys and to the cooperation of the individual Legal Practice Areas; each is a necessary part of the whole. We look for people who work best in this type of collegial, supportive environment."
- Ed Lawson
As a major employer in four communities, Your Firm makes employment opportunities available to qualified individuals whose skills and experience make them suitable candidates for placement. We are committed not to discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of age, race, religion, color, handicap, gender, physical conditions, developmental disability, sexual preference or national origin. Your Firm has a formal affirmative action plan which is reviewed annually to ensure equal employment opportunities.

Join Our Growing Team
When adding to our legal team, we seek out seasoned attorneys whose depth of knowledge and experience fit the changing needs of our clients, as well as talented attorneys whose outstanding academic performance indicates they will be among the top practitioners in their area of law. We continue to seek motivated candidates whose resumes reflect superior graduate and undergraduate academic achievement along with excellent writing, communication and organizational skills.
Please keep in mind that Wisconsin and Illinois are reciprocity states. To be admitted in Wisconsin, an applicant must have been admitted to practice law in another state or territory or the District of Columbia and must have been primarily engaged in the practice of law for three years within the previous five years. Wisconsin also prohibits admission of attorneys from states who do not reciprocate for Wisconsin attorneys.
Illinois also has reciprocity arrangements with over 30 states, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Requirements for consideration include the active and continuous engagement in the qualified practice of law for at least five of the previous seven years prior to applying for admission.
Currently, with six offices, we have a substantial range of experience among our attorneys. Each of our attorneys is committed to assisting any other attorney in the firm, no matter in which office, to provide the most competent and prompt service possible to our clients across the country and around the world.
In addition, our attorneys are committed to the communities in which they work and live. We have individuals who are involved in almost every aspect of community life, including politics, education, board memberships, and support of the arts, to name but a few.
Qualified candidates should send (electronic delivery preferred) resumes and transcripts to the office of interest indicating position desired.

Your Firm is an Equal Opportunity Employer
We are pleased to offer to our attorneys a compensation and benefits package that is both comprehensive and among the very best offered by Midwestern law firms. We review our associates on an annual basis for salary adjustments and are committed to providing our associates with regular feedback on a less formal basis throughout the year. We award bonuses to our associates for exceptional performances. In addition, we offer employment with the expectation that our associates will become our partners, as evidenced by the fact that our associates are first eligible for elevation to partner status after only seven years of service, rather than 10-plus years of service that is the standard for other large Midwestern law firms.
