Approach
To prevail in litigation, clients need exceptional representation inside and outside the courtroom. Your Firm's Litigation Practice Group, with more than 70 attorneys and paralegals in three offices, provides clients with exceptional service and representation in nearly any type of litigation.

Attorneys
Our litigation attorneys are, first and foremost, trial attorneys. We take cases to trial and win. At the same time, we are seasoned in all aspects of pre-trial procedure and discovery, which is critical given that many cases are resolved prior to trial. Our litigators also have the skills and experience necessary to obtain successful results in arbitrations, mediations and all forms of alternative dispute resolution.

We work with our clients to develop the appropriate staffing, both within our firm and in the client's legal department, based upon the substantive issues and business considerations present in each case. Our litigation group is divided into teams of attorneys that focus their practices in specific areas. Our teams avail themselves of state-of-the-art technological and human resources.

Clients
Our litigation clients range from nationally known corporations to smaller businesses, non-profits and other organizations. Regardless of size, we share their commitment to protect and pursue their rights.

Practice
The substantive areas in which Your Firm's litigators focus their practices include the following:

  • Business torts, fraud, defamation, false advertising and unfair competition
  • Products and tort liability
  • Class action, multidistrict, qui tam and other complex litigation
  • Contract and Uniform Commercial Code
  • Dealership
  • Intellectual property, patents, trademarks, copyright and trade secrets
  • Health and medical care
  • Employment and agency claims, covenants not-to-compete, wrongful discharge, discrimination and civil rights
  • Construction
  • Antitrust and trade regulation
  • Financial and commercial disputes involving sales, secured transactions, negotiable instruments, letters of credit, collections, replevins, lender liability and fraud
  • Corporate litigation involving proxy statements, mergers and acquisitions, derivative actions, securities and RICO claims
  • White collar crime and corporate investigations
  • Environmental, including insurance, toxic torts, natural resource damages claims and state and federal regulatory issues
  • Real estate litigation involving zoning, land use, nuisance, transactional and financing issues
  • Insurance coverage, including bad faith claims
  • ERISA, including health and welfare benefit denials, pension, benefit calculation and breach of fiduciary duty

Our litigators also counsel clients for in-house and outside training, that is tailored to fit the client's particular needs. We have undertaken such training in the midst of pending litigation (i.e., "crisis management" and "litigation response" training), or as a precaution during periods of relative calm.
